The Sikh Coalition has announced the selection of five fellows for its 2025 Education and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Fellowship program, part of its national effort to strengthen civic participation among Sikh Americans ahead of the fall elections.
This year’s fellows are Bismaad Kaur, Tarnoor Kaur, Tarunpreet Kaur, Harreet Kaur, and Jasmine Kaur Kohli. Over the next six months, they will lead local voter outreach initiatives, engage Sikh communities at gurdwaras, and support voter registration drives across the United States.
The GOTV fellowship program, first launched in 2024, aims to build civic awareness and empower young Sikh leaders. The fellows will research and share information about voting procedures, organize monthly speaker sessions with Sikh advocates, and design independent projects to support voter education.
“The GOTV Fellowship is a fantastic opportunity for young sangat members to gain experience with civic engagement ahead of a pivotal election this fall,” said Yashpreet Singh Matharu, Community Development Manager at the Sikh Coalition. “When we engage with our Sikh youth, we are investing in the future of our country and democracy.”
The Sikh Coalition stressed that it is a non-profit, non-partisan organization. Its GOTV activities are conducted in support of civic participation, not any political party or candidate. The group continues to advocate for increased voter turnout in federal, state, and local elections and encourages members of the Sikh community to be informed and involved.
