Mandeep Lali has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), effective July 7, 2025. The official announcement was made by Jamaal Myers, TTC Chair and City Councillor of Scarborough North on June 5, 2025.

Before joining the TTC, Lali served as an executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) for 3 years.

Lali also served in Transport for London (TFL) for over 13 years prior to his stint in New York and nearly seven years as an executive with OTIS elevators working on the Crossrail project with TFL.

Myers pointed out the importance of the new appointment in the official notification and said, “this permanent appointment gives us a unique opportunity to fundamentally reset our relationship with our customers, employees and the broader City Region and grow ridership.”

Lali would take over from Greg Percy, who was appointed as the interim CEO in late 2024.
