Indian film producer Sanatan Kadakia makes ripples in Hollywood and Broadway

Sanatan Kadakia, Executive Producer of Hidden Ridge Productions, has carved a niche for himself in the American independent film industry. His latest work – a Broadway production “The Last Five Years”, starred Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren, opened at the Hudson Theatre in New York on Apr. 6.
Kadakia has a very ambitious portfolio of film projects under his name, including horror, drama, and thriller. He has produced seven feature films, a documentary, and most recently a Broadway production. Kadakia was born and raised in Gujarat, India. He started off in electrical engineering, then shifted to IT and earned a Master’s degree in IT in the UK.
While working as a projectionist, he realized his passion for cinema. Kadakia moved to the United States and pursued his love for cinema. He learned about filmmaking with a local production company in Houston, worked as a production assistant and still photographer on corporate and commercial projects.
Kadakia, who lives in Sugar Land, Texas, told Voyage Houston that he founded Hidden Ridge Productions in 2018. He shared his love for the independent film industry as it allows filmmakers to have the opportunity to dive into complex themes, explore unique narratives, and experiment with innovative storytelling techniques. Kadakia wants to continue working in this space as a producer and collaborate with other filmmakers.

His future projects include: Seance, a horror mystery and thriller, about grief, adultery and ghosts. Another is Death Among the Pines - its screenplay is penned by genre writer Tom Jolliffe (Renegades, Cinderella’s Revenge), the Hitchcockian suspense thriller will star Nicolette McKeown (Mercy Falls, Damaged), Nathan Shepka (When Darkness Falls, Dead Before They Wake), Stephen Kerr (The Defender, The Reign of Queen Ginnarra) and Olly Bassi (Dick Dynamite: 1944, Masters of the Air).
