The Foundation of Indian-Americans (FIA) – New England is set to commemorate India’s 79th Independence Day with its 4th International India Day Parade at Boston Harbor on August 10.
Themed “United World, Shared Dreams: Peace, Prosperity, and Progress,” this year’s parade promises a vibrant display of Indian culture, community spirit, and global unity.

Organized along one of Boston’s most scenic waterfronts, the celebration will feature thematic floats representing Indian states, cultural performances, marching bands, musical ensembles, and a flag hoisting ceremony recognizing veterans, seniors, and women leaders.
A key highlight of the event is a commemorative float honoring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary. In addition, FIA will award scholarships to 78 children, and the event will host numerous booths offering Indian cuisine, shopping, and community outreach.
Last year’s parade was led by former Miss World Diana Hayden. This year, organizers promise an even larger celebration, reflecting the growing presence and contribution of the Indian-American community in New England.
Various registration links for cultural programs, parade participation, booths, and honors are now live on FIA’s website www.fiane.org.
