The Role

As CMO of Velvet Midnight Records, you’ll be responsible for owning and executing the full scope of our marketing and sales operations. This is not a consulting position—this is an executive role for a high-output doer. You will both shape the vision and get your hands dirty delivering it.

You’ll oversee campaign planning and execution, design content strategies, grow our presence across digital platforms, and help convert audience attention into measurable growth. From branding and partnerships to lead funnels and launch timelines, this department is yours to build, scale, and command.

You will report directly to the CEO and will coordinate across all teams, including artist management, studio operations, content creators, and web development. Over time, you will also be responsible for hiring, training, and managing future marketing staff as revenue allows.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional marketing experience, ideally with direct leadership responsibilities
  • A proven track record designing and executing marketing campaigns across social, email, and web
  • Comfort working in a startup or lean team environment
  • Strong familiarity with performance-driven marketing principles—especially the frameworks of Alex Hormozi, Grant Cardone, and other high-conversion marketers
  • Deep understanding of funnel creation, brand positioning, audience building, and conversion metrics
  • Excellent writing, planning, and communication skills
  • The ability to move quickly, think critically, and take full ownership of outcomes
  • Bonus: experience in music, entertainment, or creator-focused industries
  • Commitment & Compensation
    • Minimum 15–20 hours/week, with flexibility around schedule but full accountability for deliverables
    • 20% of the Label’s net monthly profit (defined as revenue minus all operating costs), paid monthly
    • No upfront salary, but the opportunity to negotiate a $3,000/month base after three consecutive months of $10K+ profit
    • No equity or IP ownership; all materials created are work-for-hire owned by the Label
