The Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai has been ranked 1 st in India and No. 149 in 2024’s Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings with an overall score of 51.7 out of 100. The results, released on June 28, 2023, mark the very first time that IIT Bombay breached into the top 150 universities in the world.
The institute climbed up 23 places from 2023 when it occupied the 172 nd position. With the current ranking, IIT Bombay is placed within 10 per cent of the world’s top 1500 universities ranked by QS. “IITB has been ranked 1st in India and has moved significantly up from 172nd rank last year to 149th rank this year in QS World University Rankings. For the first time, IITB has been ranked within the
top 150 and top 10% in QS rankings,” a tweet from the institute’s official handle read.
