India's ambitious Chandrayaan-3 successfully lifted off from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh as per schedule on July 14. Chairman of ISRO and Secretary of the Department of Science S. Somnath announced that the Chandrayaan-3 craft was placed in precise orbit around the earth as aimed under the mission.
Lauding the success of the mission, PM Modi tweeted “Chandrayaan-3 scripts a new chapter in India's space odyssey. It soars high, elevating the dreams and ambitions of every Indian. This momentous achievement is a testament to our scientists' relentless dedication. I salute their spirit and ingenuity!”
