22 એપ્રિલ મંગળવારે બપોરે લગભગ 3 વાગ્યે જમ્મુ-કાશ્મીરના પહેલગામમાં આતંકવાદીઓએ પર્યટકો પર ગોળીબાર કર્યો હતો. આ હુમલામાં 27 લોકોનાં મોત થયા છે, જેમાં સુરતના શૈલેષ હિંમતભાઈ કળથિયાનું પણ મોત થયું છે. મૂળ અમરેલી જિલ્લાના વતની અને સુરત બાદ છેલ્લા એક વર્ષથી મુંબઈમાં રહેતા શૈલેષ કળથિયા તેમના પરિવાર સાથે કાશ્મીર ફરવા ગયા હતા જેની તસવીરો હાલ સામે આવી છે. પરિવાર સાથે ફરવા ગયેલા શૈલેષનું આતંકી હુમલામાં મોત નીપજતા મૃતદેહને આજે સાંજ સુધીમાં સુરત લાવવામાં આવશે અને અહીં જ તેમની અંતિમક્રિયા કરવામાં આવશે. મૃતક શૈલેષના પિતા પણ સુરત આવવા માટે રવાના થઈ ગયા છે.
