India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has arrived in the American Capital on May 27 to hold meetings with his US counterparts and other senior officials of the Trump Administration on a host of bilateral and regional issues.
Misri’s meetings here gain significance given the Pahalgam terrorist attacks last month and successful retaliatory strikes by India deep inside Pakistan. President Donald Trump claims credit for the ceasefire between the two South Asian neighbours. New Delhi has denied any mediating role by the US in this matter.
