Dr. Dinesh Keerty joins cancer team at Florida care center

Dr. Keerty completed his early medical education from the M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bengaluru.

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) has brought onboard medical oncologist and hematologist Dr. Dinesh Keerty to its team of cancer experts in Hernando County.

Before joining FCS, Dr. Keerty was a clinical fellow at LSU Health Shreveport. He has also served as an Associate Professor at the University of South Florida and at the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Assistant Managing Physician, Dr. David Wenk discussed the appointment in a statement and said, "Dr. Keerty has a true passion for improving the lives of cancer patients at all phases of their journey."

Dr. Wenk added, "With a strong foundation in internal medicine, he (Dr. Keerty) is highly skilled in addressing urgent health needs and providing optimal care that helps prevent unnecessary emergency room visits and hospital admissions."

FCS President & Managing Physician Dr. Lucio N. Gordan echoed Dr. Wenk's sentiments and said, "We are impressed with the recognition Dr. Keerty has received within the medical community for demonstrating clinical excellence and a commitment to the education of young physicians. We are delighted to welcome him to FCS."

After receiving his medical degree from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in India, Dr. Keerty completed an internal medicine residency at Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, Pennsylvania and was named as chief resident. He was awarded a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
