The Australian government,on May 23, announced the creation of an Advisory Board for the Centre for Australia-India Relations. Based in Parramatta, the centre will work to build greater understanding within the Australia-India relationship and support businesses to seize the opportunities of economic partnership between both nations, a news release noted.
In February 2023, Australian Foreign Affairs Minister, Penny Wong, appointed Indian-origin Swati Dave as the inaugural chair of the Advisory Board and Tim Thomas as its CEO. New members were inducted into the board by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
