In a significant move underscoring the growing commercial and strategic ties between the United States and India, the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) has appointed Uday Shankar, vice chairman of JioStar, and Joseph E. Creed, CEO of Caterpillar Inc., to its board of directors.

The appointments bring together two high-profile industry leaders from divergent sectors—media and manufacturing—onto the board of a key organization that promotes bilateral business and diplomatic engagement. The announcement was made on July 29 from USISPF’s Washington headquarters.
