Indian National Charged with Child Pornography Offences in New Orleans

A 28-year-old Indian national has been charged with transporting and possessing child pornography, federal prosecutors announced.
Ashish Kapoor, also known as “Romy Kapoor,” was named in a new indictment filed on May 8, 2025. He faces serious charges for crimes involving children, said Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson.
Kapoor is accused of transporting a cellphone that had videos and images of minors in sexual acts. This allegedly happened on February 21, 2024. He is also charged with possessing similar content involving children under 12, on December 20, 2024.
