Chicago consulate with community groups to celebrate Yoga Day in Illinois

The yoga session will be led by instructors Jignesh and Hina Dixit along with their team from Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), USA.

The Indian Community of Niles Township (ICNT), United Senior Pariwar Chicago (USPC), Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) Chicago, and Gurukul Swaminarayan, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Chicago, will host the 11th International Yoga Day on June 22.

The event will begin with tea and coffee from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a yoga session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Lunch will be served after the session. Entry is free and open to the public, with donations welcome. Attendees are requested to bring their own yoga mats or folding chairs.

The event will be hosted at Gurukul Swaminarayan, 401 S. Evergreen Ave., Arlington Heights, Illinois.

“This is a sacred tribute to Yoga, the timeless spiritual gift of Hinduism to the world,” FIA Chicago noted in a statement promoting the event.

Organizers include Acharya Rohit Joshi (president, ICNT), Ramesh Chokshi (president, USP), and Hemant Patel (president, FIA). Secretaries Smitesh Shah (ICNT), Bhanubhai Vyas (USP), and Dr. Avi Verma (FIA) are also listed among the event coordinators.
