Seventeen Indian students from Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka have been selected among the 33 recipients of the International Society of Automation’s (ISA) 2025 scholarships, the North Carolina based organization announced. The awards, totaling $66,000, support tuition and research in automation, instrumentation, systems, and control.
The selected Indian students are enrolled in institutions across Pune, Mumbai, Mehsana, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore. Among them, Shruti Kokil from MKSSS’s Cummins College of Engineering for Women in Pune received the Bob & Mary Ives Endowment. Other students from the same college, including Aditi Kulkarni, Amitoj Kaur Panesar, Prachiti Mujumdar, Sakshi Kulkarni, and Sara Patil, also received general education fund scholarships.
Other recipients from Maharashtra include Aditya Sasane and Drushti Nagarkar from Vivekanand Education Society’s Polytechnic in Mumbai; Bipin Yadav and Om Mandhane from Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology; and Tanishka Dixit from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Mayank Soni from Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Academy of Engineering in Pune, was also named.
From Gujarat, Jay Mehta and Kunal Kothari of Nirma University, Prajyot Patil of Ganpat University in Mehsana, and Somya Gupta of Silver Oak University in Ahmedabad were selected. Syed Arfan Sahil from Reva University in Bangalore, Karnataka, also earned a spot on the list.
ISA CEO Claire Fallon said the scholarships reflect the organization’s commitment to the next generation of professionals. “On behalf of ISA, I am honored to congratulate this year’s exceptional scholarship recipients,” she said. “Supporting the next generation of automation professionals is key to ISA's mission of building a better world through automation. We are proud to be able to award so many talented students this year, and we look forward to seeing how they will shape and strengthen our field in the future.”
The scholarship recipients were selected from seven countries. Non-Indian students include Jeff Sauntry (US), Mohamadali Tofigh (Canada), Praise Odewale (Nigeria), Gabriel Ogungbure (UK), Gabriella Griffiths and Matthew Lockett (Australia), Grace Amell and Hameed Abdul-Rashid (US), Igor Kwas (Ireland), Meegan Heerlyn (US), Muhammad Esmat (Canada), Prapti Bordoloi and Manikandan Pandiyan (US), Rohit Gavali (US), and Yusuf Umut Ciftci (US).
The ISA is a nonprofit association founded in 1945 to advance the automation field globally.
