We orient to ikigai and self-determination theory in order to help each person have the perfect role. - What We Do (Section) CrowdDoing manages skilled volunteers, micro-leadership volunteers, multi-disciplinary volunteers and groups of service learning volunteers through a 501c3 partnership to challenges of social innovation, the social enterprise sector, and systemic change. CrowdDoing's impact venture lab leverages research and development in collaboration with volunteers to build new social innovations. The themes across all of our research is leverage for impact. Position: Front-End Developer (Next.js), to Support Imagination Platform via CrowdDoing

About the Imagination Platform

The Imagination Platform is an innovative digital space that supports educational equity, creative learning, and global mentorship. Our platform features interactive components like "RiverRuns" and "Passports" that connect mentors, learners, and changemakers worldwide. We're seeking passionate front-end developers to help maintain and enhance this impactful platform.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain front-end features using Next.js, React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

· Troubleshoot and resolve UI bugs through a structured workflow: identify → analyze → design → implement → test

· Address critical platform issues affecting user experience (e.g., RiverRuns not displaying in Passports)

· Collaborate with team members to diagnose issues, design solutions, and review code

· Document work in Asana, categorizing issues by component (e.g., RiverRuns, Passports)

· Participate in weekly virtual standups and sprint planning

· Help establish better bug reporting processes and maintain an organized backlog

· Share knowledge and mentor less experienced volunteers as appropriate

Qualifications

· Experience with React; Next.js experience preferred (or willingness to learn)

· Understanding of front-end development principles and responsive design

· Problem-solving skills and ability to debug UI/UX issues across browsers

· Familiarity with GitHub and project management tools like Asana

· Strong communication skills for effective remote collaboration

· Self-motivated with ability to work independently

· Passion for using technical skills to support educational initiatives

· Development: Next.js, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS

· Collaboration: GitHub for version control

· Project Management: Asana for task and bug tracking

· Communication: Slack and weekly video meetings

Current Technical Challenges

Our platform currently faces several front-end challenges that directly impact user experience:

· RiverRuns components not displaying properly in user Passports

· Submission data not appearing after users complete activities

· UI elements not updating correctly after backend changes

· Multiple UI bugs affecting core functionality

With only one current front-end specialist on the team, your contribution will directly help resolve these blockers and improve the platform for users worldwide.
