Prime Minister Modi had a telephonic conversation with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on December 26, to reiterate the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities with Russia and urge the adoption of dialogue and diplomacy to amicably settle their conflict.

During the call, Zelensky conveyed his heartiest congratulations to India on assuming the G20 Presidency and said that he counts on India's role as president in implementing his "peace formula", a 10-point strategy he presented at the Bali G20 summit earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister briefed him on India's top priorities for the G20, which include cooperating with other countries on world peace and food and energy security.
