World Sikh Organization demands explanation for exclusion of Punjab from India-Canada air travel agreement

The Canadian Sikhs also expressed their problems in obtaining a visa to India due to suspension of e-visa services and the suspension of 10-year Indian visa.

Canada-based World Sikh Organization (WSO) has written a letter to the Canadian Minister of Transport Omar Alghabra demanding an explanation for the exclusion of Punjab from the recently expanded Canada-India Air Transport Agreement.

Announced earlier this month, the agreement stated that unlimited flights will be operated from Canada to the Indian cities of Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. However, there was no mention of Chandigarh and Amritsar, the two Punjabi cities that large population of Sikhs.
