World Bank report praises India's Covid-19 strategies

Specifically acknowledging that the country went from import dependency to export surplus for many Covid-19 commodities, the research paper said testing laboratories were scaled up from 18 to over 2,500 within a span of four months.

A discussion paper recently published by the World Bank has hailed many aspects of India's Covid-19 management, saying the country used a "whole of government" approach.

The paper – “India Covid-19 procurement - Challenges, innovation and lessons”, produced by the Health, Nutrition, and Population practice of World Bank and authored by Gandham NV Ramana, Dinesh Nair, Suresh Kunhi Mohammed, Sanjeet Kumar and Shanker Lal specifically lauded the central procurement agency, HLL Lifecare Limited.
