The White House announced on Dec.15 2022 that former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is well qualified to represent the United States in India.
The declaration was made a few days after senator Chuck Grassley, a powerful figure publicly opposed Garcetti's nomination because of a sexual harassment claim made against him by a member of his staff.
