US overtakes UAE in remittances to India during COVID: RBI Report

The report also found Maharashtra had surpassed Kerala as the top state for receiving remittances.

Remittances from the United States to India saw an increase during the 2020-21 while inflows from the usually highest contributor, United Arab Emirates (UAE) declined.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducted a study on the impact of the pandemic on India’s remittances and found that the US accounted for 23 percent of the remittances while UAE came second at 18 percent.
