US-India sign narcotics control agreement

Both countries agreed to cooperate on combating both internal and cross-border drug trafficking by information sharing and capacity building

United States and India signed an Amended Letter of Agreement (ALOA) for narcotics control and law enforcement during the third meeting of the India-U.S. Counternarcotics Working Group (CNWG) in New Delhi, a news release by the US State Department noted.

During the meeting, representatives from both sides deliberated on various drug related issues including drug demand, narcotics trafficking, regulatory and control efforts, and cooperation on enforcement and criminal investigations.
