US, India semiconductor groups join hands to boost semiconductor ecosystem

The proposed task force will deliver on many fronts to support India to increase its presence in the global chip ecosystem and exchange opportunities to benefit both the countries.

The US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) jointly announced plans to form a private-sector task force to strengthen collaboration between the two countries in the global semiconductor ecosystem.

For India, which is promoting the semiconductor ecosystem under the Make-in-India initiative and investing in INR 3,000 crore in the sector for fiscal year 2023-24, the development comes at a crucial time.
