The US has steered clear of the controversial BBC documentary, ‘India: The Modi Question’ with the State Department spokesperson Ned Price stating that he wasn’t aware of it, but of the fact that the US and India are vibrant democracies.

The BBC documentary focuses on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the then government which he was heading as Chief Minister, in response to the 2002 riots.‌‌ However, the Indian government has termed it a propaganda piece’ aimed to push a ‘discredited narrative’ as PM Modi had been absolved of the charge by the courts of the country.
