According to a video featured in the tweet, four officers from the US consular offices in Washington DC, Japan's Okinawa and Hong Kong were tasked to reduce visa interview wait hours, facilitate travel to the US, and boost India-US business opportunities.
At present, non-immigrant visa applicants from Mumbai wait for 694 days to get an appointment, while in New Delhi, the wait time is 614 days.
