UP CM Yogi Adityanath faces Swiss criminal charges

Yogi is being charged for crimes against humanity and for his inability to quell the CAA protests that erupted in the state in 2020.

Guernica 37, a UK-based barristers' chamber specialized in human rights and international law, filed a criminal report in the Office of the Swiss Federal Prosecutor against Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of the State Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) India, who is attending the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, scheduled between January 16 and 20, 2023.

‌‌The complaint was filed under the principle of universal jurisdiction as provided in Article 264 of the Swiss Criminal Code for crimes committed against humanity in the state of Uttar Pradesh between December 2019 and January 2020.
