Prime Minister Narendra Modi named the 21 largest unnamed islands of Andaman & Nicobar Islands after Param Vir Chakra (PVC) awardees in a ceremony to mark Parakram Diwas, the birthday of prominent Indian freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The Indian government has also named an island after Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in memory of his stay there.
