Indian mountaineer scales fifth highest peak in African continent

Singh, an avid high altitude photographer, aims to unfurl Indian flag on 7 highest peaks of the world.

Indian mountaineer Nitish Singh scaled the fifth highest peak of the African continent, Mount Meru, which is located at an altitude on 14,968 ft in Arusha region of Tanzania.

Having started the ascent on Dec 28 at 8 a.m. Singh conquered the peak at 6.20 p.m. on Dec 29 and unfurled the Indian tricolor.
