Legislation to reduce costs of rabies vaccine in White House

Indian-American lawmaker, Ami Bera, has brought forth a comprehensive legislation to reduce the cost of rabies post-exposure treatment for uninsured persons. This is after his own encounter with a rabid fox on Capitol Hill in April.

‘The Affordable Rabies Treatment for Uninsured Act’ proposes that the government reimburse hospitals for providing post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) to uninsured individuals.
