UNSW Professor Perminder Sachdev awarded Ryman Prize

UNSW Professor Perminder Sachdev has been awarded the 2022 Ryman Prize by the New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for his work on dementia prevention and early diagnosis as well as research on healthy brain ageing.

Professor Perminder Sachdev, co-director of the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA) at UNSW Sydney and a preeminent clinician and academic in the world, has been awarded the 2022 Ryman Prize in honour of his research in the fields of brain ageing and dementia that has significantly improved the lives of older people all over the world.

Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand, presented Sachdev with the award and a grant of US$250,000. The Ryman Prize was created to offer those working in the field of geriatric medicine the Nobel Prize of their sector.
