“Unacceptable visa delays are harming America’s global competitiveness”, says U.S. Travel Association

Currently the wait time for US visitor visas in some countries exceed 400 days reaching upto over 800 in Indian cities like Mumbai and New Delhi.

The economists at U.S. Travel Association, a non-profit representing all components of the travel industry, believe that visa processing delays are adversely affecting the economy of the United States whiles also reducing its global competitiveness.

The organization in its new analysis found that the delays are keeping an estimated 6.6 million potential visitors from traveling to the United States in 2023 causing a loss of US$11.6 billion to the economy.
