UK Royal Navy, Indian Navy to undertake maritime exercise in Indian Ocean

HMS Tamar is one of two Royal Navy vessels on permanent deployment in the Indo-Pacific according to the UK Navy

UK Royal Navy’s HMS Tamar ship set out for the Andaman Nicobar Islands on Jan.6 to undertake capability demonstrations and a 5-day maritime exercise with the Indian Navy. The trip marks HMS Tamar's maiden visit to the islands.

As one of the two Royal Navy vessels on permanent deployment in the Indo-Pacific, the important visit to India is aimed at further strengthening the shared maritime domain awareness effort and to underline the the two nations' intent to collaborate in the Indian Ocean region and wider Indo-Pacific.
