UK exhibition traces back the story of Indian Dance in the midlands

The items at the exhibition donated by immigrant families, will help visitors discover the connection between place, people and cultural heritage.

An ongoing exhibition at the Midlands Arts Centre (MAC), Birmingham, United Kingdom traces the story of Indian dance in the foreign country back to the 1960s and celebrates the early Indian migrants to the UK.

Titled “Nritya: Collecting The Story Of Indian Dance In The Black Country 1960-2000”, the exhibition explores the stories, memories, photographs, films and objects collected from some of the pioneer dancers, teachers and choreographers curated by Jaivant Patel Dance Company.
