An international media workshop for women journalists from the Indo-Pacific was held in Kolkata on August 11, 2022. The workshop was organised by the U.S. Consulate General in collaboration with the Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS), with the assistance of South Asian Women in Media (SAWM), and the East West Center (EWC).
Around 60 female journalists from various nations, including the United States and the Indo-Pacific region, which includes nations like India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, among others, attended the event. They discussed the risks and difficulties they encountered in their countries, in addition to the effective measures taken to deal with them.
