Two Indian-origin men were selected as finalists for the Singaporean of the Year 2022, organised by The Straits Times newspaper and presented by UBS Singapore to celebrate the extraordinary impact of ordinary Singaporeans on society.
According to a report in The Straits Times, Priveen Suraj Santakumar, 34, and Charanjit Singh Walia, 64, were recognized for their selfless contributions in distributing food to Ukrainian refugees in Poland after the Russia-Ukraine war broke out.
