Former US President Donald Trump has applauded fellow Republican and Indian-American US Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy for his impressive performance in the recent Republican Primary poll, CBS YouGov.
Commenting on Ramaswamy’s statistics in the poll, Trump said on his social media platform, Truth Social, “I am pleased to see that Vivek Ramaswamy is doing so well in the most recent Republican Primary Poll, CBS YouGov.”
The Indian-origin entrepreneur announced his 2024 presidential bid on February 21, 2023. He will be running in the Republican presidential primary against Trump, Indian-American Nikki Haley, Asa Hutchinson and others like Mike Pence and Ron DeSantis should they formally enter the race.
Trump said, “The thing I like about Vivek is that he only has good things to say about ‘President Trump’and all that the Trump Administration has so successfully done—This is the reason he is doing so well. In any event, good luck to all of them, they will need it!”
Trump underlined that Ramaswamy is tied with Mike Pence, and seems to be on his way to catching Ron DeSantis. In the Republican primary voters' poll, Ramaswamy was ahead of former US Ambassador to the United Nations, Haley.
The 37-year-old Ramaswamy, a resident of Ohio, started his first major company on Cinco de Mayo in 2014. His parents migrated to the US from Kerala over 40 years ago, his father worked at a General Electric plant.
