TiE Boston's annual winter gala honors rising entrepreneurs

The ceremony included speeches from notable guests including keynote speaker David Friend, president, and CEO at Wasabi Technologies.

The Indus Entrepreneurs, TiE’s Boston chapter held its annual winter gala on Dec. 2, 2022 at Sheraton Boston. This year’s gala also marked TiE Boston’s 25th anniversary in operation.

The event is an important platform for connecting and networking for the region’s entrepreneurial organizations with entrepreneurs, executives, and venture capitalists. Entrepreneurs in the region are deeply engaged and committed to giving back to the community through mentorship programs and networking, fundraising initiatives and other programs.

The gala had an award ceremony honoring diverse upcoming entrepreneurs from the Boston area.

The award winners were selected by a committee of five notable judges comprising of Anu Chitrapu (senior vice president, Bank of America), Yash Shah (co-founder and managing director, Jeavio/president, TiE Boston), Venkat Srinivasan (managing director, Innospark Ventures), Meena Subramanyam, Ph.D. (vice president and global program leader, Takeda Pharmaceuticals) and Praveen Tailam (founder, Redtail Consulting).

The ceremony included speeches from notable guests including keynote speaker David Friend, president, and CEO at Wasabi Technologies. Followed by announcement of the award winners:

Lifetime Achievement Award: Geeta Aiyer, Founder and President, Boston Common Asset Management; Venture Capitalist of the Year: Jamie Goldstein, Founder and Partner, Pillar VC; Rising Entrepreneur of the Year: Uroš Kuzmanović, CEO and Co-Founder, BioSens8.

Entrepreneur of the Year: Aman Narang, Co-President, Founder, COO and Director, Toast, Inc.; Award for Corporate Excellence: Rohit Prasad, SVP and Head Scientist, Amazon Alexa; TiE Boston President’s Award: Dr. Dinesh Patel, MD, Co-Founder, TiE Boston; Emeritus Chief of Arthroscopic Surgery at Mass General Hospital.

‌‌TiE Boston is one of the region’s largest organizations supporting the Massachusetts entrepreneurial ecosystem. Founded in 1997, TiE Boston connects founders with  upcoming entrepreneurs.
