"March to unite India," by the Congress party reaches half-way mark

The top opposition leader in India, Rahul Gandhi, has been leading a statewide foot march which has completed 80 days.

Rahul Gandhi, the biggest opposition figure in India,  has been leading a nationwide "unity march" for the last 80 days, and it is currently making its way through the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Rahul Gandhi performed Aarti on the bank of river Narmada at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh.

On September 7, the "Bharat Jodo Yatra" (or Unite India March) began in Kanyakumari, India's southernmost point in the state of Tamil Nadu. It will take another 70 days to travel 3,500 kilometers (2,175 miles) on foot to reach Kashmir, India.
