An Indian-American businesswoman and her pet dog perished in a fire at their Dix Hills cottage house in Long Island, New York on December 14, according to police officials.
Police said they arrived at the cottage in Dix Hills at 2:53 am but the victim Tanya Bathija (32) could not escape the fury of the fire despite the efforts of two police officers and a sergeant.
