The Board of Directors of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a group of business owners, corporate leaders and senior professionals in Silicon Valley, has unanimously chosen Suresh U. Kumar, a serial entrepreneur and professor of innovation & entrepreneurship at NJIT, to serve as the organization's president for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2023.
In addition to his present assignment on the TiE New Jersey Board of Directors, Suresh also served as a member of the Biden-Harris Campaign 2020 Economic Development Sub Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He was the program's founding chairman in 2019.
In his new role, Kumar will have the support of an energized Board and an executive director, Neetu Randhawa, who have worked together to start three new special interest groups (SIG) namely Emerging entrepreneurs under 35, Healthcare & Life Sciences, and a Women's entrepreneur (two of our Woman founders are on the 2023 New Jersey Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year list). In the past year, the charter membership increased by 50 percent to 85 Charter Members.
With Suresh's appointment, TiE New Jersey aims to continue its expansion and reach new heights. He will represent the NJ chapter at the TiEGlobal CM Summit in Rio de Janeiro and Silicon Valley TiECon in 2023.
