Sikh girl receives Medical Student of the year award in Australia

The Sikh Medical student was recognised for her commitment and passion towards serving the underprivileged communities

A final year medical student and an aspiring neurosurgeon with a passion for Rural Medicine, Jasraaj Singh, has won Rural Doctors Association of Australia’s (RDAA) Medical Student of the year award 2022.

Born in Nambour on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with roots in Boparai, Punjab, Singh developed an interest in becoming a doctor, a first in her family, while serving as a volunteer at Nambour Hospital.
