Sikh family killed by disgruntled employee laid to rest

Local media reports said that at least 300 people attended the funeral services for the Indian-origin family. Mani Grewal, Stanislaus County Supervisor, said, “We are just here to show the family there now, they're not in this alone.”

An outpouring of shared grief and community support was witnessed at the Allen Mortuary in California on Saturday where the last rites of a Sikh family, who were murdered earlier this month, were performed.

A baby girl 8-month-old Aroohi Dheri, her 27-year-old mother Jasleen Kaur, her 36-year-old father Jasdeep Singh, and her 39-year-old uncle Amandeep Singh were kidnapped at gunpoint on Oct. 3, 2022. Their bodies were later found thrown in an orchard.
