Shailen Bhatt has been sworn in as the 21st Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on Jan 18, 2023, by the United States Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Bhatt was nominated for the post by US President Joe Biden on July 21, 2022, which was confirmed by the Senate on Dec 8, 2022, thereby becoming the first person of Indian origin to lead FHWA.
