The new agreement involving flights between Canada and India has drawn criticism from the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex Sikh organization in India, for neglecting Punjab, particularly Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar.

There is dissatisfaction among Sikhs in India and abroad as a result of this discrimination towards the holy city, according to SGPC spokesperson and general secretary Gurcharan Singh Grewal.
