U.S. Senator Alex Padilla joined other Senate leaders and DACA recipients on Nov.16 2022, for a press conference outside the U.S capitol, urging Republicans in Congress to cooperate with Democrats before the year is up, to pass legislation providing DACA recipients with long-term protections.

After the recent DACA ruling by the 5th Circuit Court, Dreamers are still in fear of losing their work permits and protections against deportation. An average of 1000 DACA recipients would lose their jobs each week if Congress doesn't take action by December of this year.
