Diwali: Lights of India festival will be celebrated in Seattle, United States of America on Oct. 22, 2022 as part of the Seattle Center Festál series at the Seattle Center Armory Food and Event Hall.
The day long event will showcase the arts and culture of India, adapted from different states and the traditions observed during the most popular annual festival celebrated in India.
Highlights of the event include a rangoli (floor art) decoration, a martial arts session, exhibitions, henna booth, face painting booth, live performances by nationally and internationally known artists, and musical and dance entertainment produced and presented by local youth dance schools.
Speaking about the event, Mayor Bruce Harrell said, “One Seattle is all about bringing communities together to embrace our diversity and celebrate the many cultures that make our city stronger. Diwali: Lights of India highlights the unique cultural roots of our Indian community and gives Seattleites a chance to experience their rich traditions.”
“Diwali brings people to Seattle Center’s campus to share in Indian culture. We are proud to host so many educational and valuable festivals, like Diwali, here in the heart of Seattle,” added Seattle Center director Robert Nellams.
