The Consulate General of India in San Francisco has warned travellers against fake websites that are offering Indian E-Visas. In a statement, the Indian Consulate said that it had been brought to their notice that many fake E-visa websites were operating on the internet, claiming to provide E-visa services to visa applicants.

"To mislead applicants, some of these websites have created images and home page templates mimicking the Govt. of India's websites for E-visa application and some of these include e-touristvisaindia.com, e-visaindia.com, indiavisa.org.in etc," the statement said.

The Indian Consulate informed that the correct website for E-visa is indianvisaonline.gov.in.  Applicants were requested not to apply on any other website for E-visa services as the facility is in addition to the existing regular Visa services are only being provided through the Indian Consulate.
