Salman Rushdie releases new book, six months after deadly attack

The Washington Post has termed the new release as the Indian version of “Game of Thrones"

‌‌Nearly six months after Indian-born British-American author Salman Rushdie was attacked in New York, he has released a new novel ‘Victory City’, narrating the story of an orphan girl out, who sets out to rule a city by defying the patriarchal world.

Set in 14th century Southern India, Victory City follows the story of Pampa Kampana, who is blessed with divine power by Goddess Parvati to found Bisnaga city, which translates to Victory City.
