ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਲਿੰਗਟਨ ਸਿਟੀ ਹਾਈ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਸਿੰਘ ਨਿਊ ਜਰਸੀ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ
