The Punjab Government has extended the suspension of internet and SMS services in Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Moga, Sangrur, Amritsar's Ajnala sub-division, YPS Nagar of Mohali and areas adjacent to Airport Road to Thursday, March 23, 2023, afternoon.
The state announced that the mobile internet services in the remaining areas will be operational from noon on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
The notification by the government applies to all mobile internet services, all SMS services (excluding banking and mobile recharge), and all dongle services on mobile networks, except voice calls. The order is issued in "the interest of public safety to prevent any incitement of violence and to avoid any disturbance of peace and public order," Punjab Government said in a statement.
